Accommodations

What are your accommodation rates? Are they different from other nursing homes?
Accommodation rates are regulated by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and are the same for all Long Term Care Homes in Ontario.
Clothing

What type of clothing should we purchase?
Clothing that is comfortable and machine washable, such as track suits, dresses, shirts, pajamas which can be easily put on/removed e.g. front/back buttons. Dry cleaning services are available at a cost.
Medical

Can the resident retain his/her own physician?
Yes. You may also choose to select one of the physicians appointed (contracted) by the facility.
Food & Diet

Does the menu offer choice?
Yes. For each main entrée there is an alternate choice available and offered to the resident. Also, prior to meal service, the menu options are posted on our main dining room main board and TV.

Are meals prepared and cooked in the facility?
Yes. We only provide home-cooked meals.

Are special diets available?
Yes. Upon admission, the resident's diet is assessed and their individualized plan of care is monitored daily by the multidisciplinary team, with changes made as required.

Can family bring in gifts of food?
Yes. However you must ensure that foods brought in do not interfere with the prescribed diet order by the physician. Any food items that are brought in should be checked-in with the Charge Nurse first.

Can family have meals with the resident?
Yes. Meal tickets can be purchased at the office or with main chef.

To whom do I speak if I have questions and/or concerns?
Any questions or concerns should be communicated directly with the Charge Nurse on the respective floors. You may also contact any of the Management Team who would be more than happy to answer any question or concerns you may have.

Is there 24 hour medical coverage?
Yes. Registered professional staff are available 24 hours per day seven days per week.
